Here are my interviews with the leaders of the two main parties on the City of Wolverhampton Council. I recorded the interview with Cllr Simon Bennett on Wednesday 6th November 2024 and Cllr Stephen Simkins on Sunday 10th November.

I talked with Cllr Bennett about the new leader of the Conservative Party, the important role of opposition, the pressure on local councils financially, the Bilston North by-election and the devolution of funding.

I talked with Cllr Simkins about the importance of Remembrance, the local cut backs and rise in council tax, the change in a national government and relationships with it, the devolution of funding to the West Midlands, the impact of the uncontrolled market on local authority salaries and the role of opposition moving forward.
